AS IT IS' "okay." turns 1!

British band AS IT IS released their second studio album on January 20 2017. Yesterday marked one year since the album had been released, and since it was one of our favourite releases of 2017 we thought we would talk about it. The first single that the band released prior to this album was track 2- Okay. This song pretty much sums up the overall theme for the album. This song is all about the fact that its okay not to be okay. As cheesy as it sounds, it is an album that makes you feel less alone at those times when you aren't feeling okay.

For this album, the band branched out more in terms of genre, while still keeping that "as it is" sound. there are some songs that are a bit heavier like track 6 "No Way Out", and some songs are more pop like track 9 "Until I Return". In terms of emotions, this album is all over the place. By the end, you would have felt every emotion possible! Having said that, the overall theme of the album remains the same, and every song fits perfectly in place.

This album touches on deeper subjects than the previous album like depression, heartbreak, and loss. Tracks like "Patchwork Love" and "Austen" touch on these subjects.

Something else we love about this album are the lyrics. The band does an amazing job on saying things that we sometimes have a hard time saying.

Overall, we believe that this album was a huge improvement from the last one in all aspects. We are so excited to hear the next release.
