A Glimpse of: Awake At Last

This week, we talked with Hard Rock band Awake At Last:

1. Which bands/artists do you get your inspiration from? 

Everyone in the band takes their individual influences from multiple sources, but I think some names that are safe choices would be bands like My Chemical Romance, Muse, Nothing More, and hints of Panic! at the disco's early years, and peppered with a bit of Danny Elfman Theatrical elements.

2. When and how was the band formed? 

The band was formed in 2011 by singer Vincent Torres, and guitarist Eric Blackway.  The current line up was formed about 3 and a half years ago and has comprised the general vibe of the band as we've been touring all over the country since.  We came together with the idea that we could be a light in a progressively darkening world and try to spread positivity and perseverance with our music.

3. How did you come up with your name? 

Awake At Last is the spiritual awakening the band experienced when we decided that music could be both a catharsis, and a way of life and the "Awakening" has a lot to do with the realization of the kind of message we want to put out to the world.  

4. When was your first release? 

Our First ever release was a self-titled EP released in September of 2011.  The first EP was pretty cool because it kind of predicted the bands journey through their independent artist adventure.  

5. Who are the members in your band, and what is their role in the band? 

Vincent Torres (Singer), Eric Blackway (Guitarist), Imran Xhelili (Guitarist), and Jon Finney (Drums).

6. What genre is your band? 

It's hard to place a strict genre on the band but i'd say that Theatrical Melodic Hard Rock is a decent description for it.  

7. Where have you guys toured? 

We've had the great luck of being able to tour all over the USA we've been all up and down the East Coast, and we've even made our way through the southwest, and West Coast.  

8. Do you have any upcoming tours? 

We have a cool little midwest run coming up really soon.  There will be more to follow as we try and stay on the road as much as possible.  

9. When is your next release? 

Currently that is undetermined, but we are in the works of some new music at the moment and we are very excited.  

10. What is your most recent release? 

Our most recent release is also our most successful release, and that would be the Life.Death.Rebirth EP we just put out in July of 2017
